Start-of-the-art technologies of imaging, such as optical components, lasers, fibres, optical coherence tomography, were presented. The topics that were discussed and presented ranged from applications in different cancers, surgery, ophthalmology, endoscopy, and even remote education for medical students and trainees. Mariana Pacheco Blanco, from Amires, as MedPhab partner described the role of AMIRES in MedPhab, and how the company portfolio and expertise in proposal preparation and project management could be of interest for the attendants. Not only the speakers which presented their current research and development were participating but also the attendants contributed to the discussions. Jussi Hiltunen, MedPhab coordinator, introduced the pilot-line to the audience of this meeting. Ten speakers presented their expertise, interest and role in this topic with application in medical sector. In vivo imaging is the visualization of living organisms for research or diagnostic purposes, in these talks the living organisms are the humans.
